Mixed-age Groups in Family Child Care: Reflecting and Planning to Meet the Needs of Diverse Ages and Skill Levels will occur weekly

This course will be offered as a live Zoom event.  You will need a laptop, computer, or tablet and a reliable internet connection.  This is an interactive course with participants expected to share their camera and audio for active participation.

Course Description:

Family child care programs are in the unique position of caring for and educating children of a wide range of ages, often infants through school-age. It can be challenging to meet the needs of each child and provide engaging activities and guidance to the group, while maintaining a safe and healthy space for all ages and skill levels. This series will meet once a month to learn and discuss various aspects of quality child care in a family child care setting including, setting up the environment, creative learning experiences, child guidance, and promoting your program to the community. Each session will be interactive, with a presentation by the instructor as well as time for discussions, problem-solving, and sharing resources by participants.

This event is sponsored by The Department of Early Education and Care's Strong Start program.  It is free to licensed educators in Massachusetts.
