Description:
Using “Developmentally Appropriate Practices” (DAP) is a cornerstone of high quality early education programs. (NAEYC, 2020). It’s often difficult to determine if a learning activity is developmentally appropriate, partially due to the onslaught of activity ideas on the internet and social media. We’ll review what DAP looks like in learning activities and what to avoid. We’ll reflect on our learning goals for children and the types of learning experiences that promote strength-based, play-based, joyful, engaged learning.
Sponsored by The Department of Early Education and Care's Strong Start Program. This class is free to licensed educators in Massachusetts.
